QLD: Graham dreams of racing for Australia again

ABC Sport: Graham dreams of racing for Australia again - 1 September, 2006

Injured cyclist Lorian Graham says she still has dreams of riding for Australia again after being seriously injured last year. Graham was one of five cyclists injured when the Australian women’s team was hit by a car in Germany last year in an accident that killed team-mate Amy Gillett. She has had five operations since and has only just returned to her bike. Graham is on the Sunshine Coast to watch the Australian Road Cycling Championships and says she is looking forward to professional riding once again.

“At the moment I am just grateful to be here,” she said. “There’s still a big decision to be made down the line but I still have the burning desire to represent my country again and in order to be there I will have to take that step and be going overseas again and riding in either the Australian team or a professional team.”
