The Age: Cyclist injured in collision with car dies

A cyclist who was struck by a car after falling off her bike in Melbourne’s outer-east a week ago has died from her injuries. The 28-year-old Elwood woman was riding west along Canterbury Road when she fell into the path of an oncoming car about 9.40am last Saturday, Victoria Police said. It’s thought she veered onto some rough bitumen and lost her balance before being struck. She was taken to The Alfred hospital but died yesterday morning, Senior Constable Mia Paterson said. Her death takes Victoria’s road toll to 19 for 2007, compared to 24 for the same period last year.
