Things dont change sadly since you have noticed the article in car advice way back in 2007 http://www.caradvice.com.au/1642/nsw-cyclists-anger-over-bad-drivers/#comments
and the sad news of Mr Cornish's death who died after he rode around a parked car and, simultaneously, a van travelling behind him changed lanes to avoid a vehicle ahead turning right

Every comment by other road user + more has been used again so sad

Its rather astounding that a seemingly harmless article in the local paper can get out there into the larger public arena and was picked up here http://www.caradvice.com.au/1642/nsw-cyclists-anger-over-bad-drivers/#comments through you and 21 people took the time to comment
Thanks to them and I would like to say in a few cases I was miss quoted mainly because of the interview was done over the phone I will get a printed copy of what I said if I get a chance before it goes to press next time

Hi all,

A few corrections to the comment made by Alborz at this recent WoJ entry:

NSW: Hooligan drivers terrorise cyclists
http://www.woj.com.au/2007/02/23/nsw-hooligan-drivers-terrorise-cyclists/#comments

1. This is a blog post made via media monitoring for cyclist-related issues, not WoJ official commentary. The article is directly linked to the original published by the Daily Advertiser in NSW. The Daily Advertiser article also gives readers the opportunity to post a online comment.

2. Observations made here: NSW Cyclists' Anger Over Bad Drivers
http://www.caradvice.com.au/1642/nsw-cyclists-anger-over-bad-drivers/

"Some roads are simply not cyclist friendly and its time some of these riders realise this and avoid these roads for their own safety"

While I'll concur it's constructive to generate opinion and contrasting viewpoints, sadly it's rather apparent there's still much work to be done on existing attitudes and awareness of actual shared safety issues and shared road infrastructure.

This is the reason why there is a vast amount of information collated on the Wheels of Justice website, so that these commonly held miscomprehensions regarding shared road can be challenged.

cheers,

Good article, I think though, there needs to be some sort of response from the drivers perspective, I wrote an article in response at
