Nice one Caroline. An honest view of cycling to work for a change. Both how refreshing it is, and how vulnerable you can feel on the road.
Cycling to work is, in essence, a fantastic way of creating a healthier population (especially those of us stuck behind a desk all day) and ensuring that our transport system is MUCH greener. The cycle to work scheme the government is pushing should help (loads of good info at the blog I help write), but more assertive action needs to be taken to make us feel safer!

Fantastic! It's about time. I live in Adelaide, South Australia, and we have many cycle lanes, but I believe it's not nearly enough. Look to what former Mayor Penalosa has helped create in Bogota, Columbia by returning public space to the people; a lift in happiness, quality of life, fitness of citizens and less pollution as a by-product. I hope everyone soon catches on to this great idea and follows suit.
