News.com.au: Cyclist dead after truck collision

A cyclist is dead after a collision with a truck in the state’s south, the NSW Ambulance service says. About 4.30am (AEST) today emergency services were called to the Monaro Highway about 4km north of Bredbo where the collision occurred. The cyclist was dead when ambulance officers arrived.

The highway is closed in both directions, with detours in place along Captains Flat Rd and Gerangle Rd, but the latter is an unsealed road and not suitable for heavy vehicles according to a police spokeswoman. “Police are asking travellers to delay their journey or use the coast road,” the spokeswoman said. “Crime scene (officers) and detectives are on their way to the scene of the incident and the road is expected to reopen about mid-morning.”
