The Age: Cyclist dies after collision with car

A 17-year-old boy has died after the bicycle he was riding collided with a car in Cowes, south-east of Melbourne. Police are speaking to a woman who was driving her Volvo VC90 west on Ventnor Road when it struck the boy around 5.35pm (AEST) yesterday. The teenager, from Cowes, was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital but died a short time later. His death takes the state’s road toll to 252 for the year, 10 less than for the same time last year.
